DeFi as a path to liquidity. Less reliance on CEX’s.

We’ve always made it a point to avoid going the traditional route and selling out the future of our users for short term gains via exchange listings simply due to a few reasons; the main one being how costly it is on the future users by giving exchanges so much control over the markets through wash trading or negative market making. As you’ve heard many times exchanges can be hacked, wash traded on or even dumped in a coordinated fashion as we’ve recently seen with XRP. Not to mention how much USD/BTC these exchanges ask for and how unreasonable the cost is in comparison to services rendered.

Gladly crypto has come a long way since the days of relying on the big boy gate keepers exchanges and alongside smaller partners such as SouthXchange & Graviex we have the opportunity to start building trading bridges between many blockchains and start working on decentralizing the marketing making and liquidity aspects of the project away from further reliance on centralized entities at very high costs to the community.

Thanks to ‘DeFi’ the new wave of smart contracts built on top of EVM platforms such as Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain and others we now have the ability to bridge the gaps between blockchains through system such as Wrapped DeVault, which will be the first contract to assist in this endeavor.

Reduce the maximum supply to something more fathomable, instead of the current multi hundred year timeline.

Another update that has been discussed is reducing the maximum supply to something more understandable for normal users. The original supply was set to dry up in roughly 750 years which, in hindsight, is very hard for people to compehend thus the assumption is constant inflation and printing will continually occur forever, which while true, is not nearly as impactful as 750 of inflation suggests it is.

The proposed solution will be to reduce the maximum supply to something well see in 20–30 years and scale around that, most likely a reduction to 1 billion maximum would be worthwhile.

The current scale for the next 10 years is as follows, but more charts need to be made going further out which we are working on now.

Branding going forward, as a method of immortalizing our developers such as Spock. RIP.

As we’ve recently reported one of our beloved developers known online as JonSpock, who was one of the pioneers of DeVault and a titan in the technology world in his real life, recently passed away towards the end of 2020 and going forward we will be leveraging as much branding and marketing as possible to keep his name alive and help people remember him, so going forward expect alot of fun, technological star trek + space themed projects being launched under the DeVault umbrella.

Spock was responsible for the overall rework of the Bitcoin codebase and improved many many lines of code as well as added Cold Rewards and was recently finalizing his new BLS on-chain mixing protocol for on chain privacy for DVT.

As you can see he was always hard at work coding… what a legend. 535 thousand lines added and 324,000 removed. Staggering.

Rest in Peace Spock. 🖖

What about BLS Signatures going forward?

BLS Signatures will allow the DeVault blockchain to expand privacy protections for users as well as provide a scalability boost for large amounts of transactions occurring and automagically being aggregated into a single transaction, every block.

Proteus is a very skilled developer in his own rights and has the talent to continue development of BLS going forward and it has been discussed already but we have a ton of work to finalize before that amount of time can be found without adding new developers to the family so hold tight but rest assured BLS will go live in the future of DeVault one way or another. Spock deserves it.
